Climate change is real. We often brush this topic under the carpet, but we cannot turn a blind eye towards its devastating impact on man kind as well as on our planet. Right now, we are witnessing its horrendous effects in Pakistan.

Pakistan is one of those countries that has been severely affected by the climate change. Pakistan is currently witnessing its repercussions right now in the name of flashfloods. From homes to crops even massive buildings, these flash floods engulfed all. The destruction caused by flashfloods is still going on. One can’t apprehend the loss as its beyond imagination. Sindh, Balochistan and South Punjab have been severely affected, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan also suffered massive loss. According to the data from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), 33 million population of 81 districts have been affected.

Around 1545 deaths have been reported along with that 12850 people have been injured, 935795 livestock loss, 765162 no of homes fully damaged, 1135829 partially damaged while 1921622 homes total damaged(Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan).

No doubt it such a huge loss which Pakistan is bearing in its entire history, one cannot even fathom. People are under open sky there is no roof over them nor food or clean drinkable water.

Alkhidmat Foundation and Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) in collaboration with doctors and medical volunteers are continuously engaged in to keep the people safe from the epidemics that spread like a wild fire after the devastating floods. Alkhidmat Mobile medical units have also reached flood-hitted areas. With the help of Alkhidmat mobile water units supply of clean water is also being made, while distribution of hygiene kits are also being ensured.
